NTS // Kit Radio with Shape Worship

Ed Gillett – aka Shape Worship – ambled into the studio to give me a hand this week, armed with a giant bag of freshly rummaged vinyl. Soon he was uprooting wires and plugging in frankly baffling slabs of LED-encrusted equipment. Minimal chat on this one – I was gobsmacked most of the time, but still pulled myself together to offset Ed’s professionalism with a few slip-ups. Highlights include the wonderfully fluid Acid Arab / Dolo Percussion bit by Ed, and the mournful spirituals we bounced back and forth. Also notable: “Jumbo Mixed Grill” by The Nag’s Head caused a Somali man to burst into the studio and dance around holding a can of Idris. Tracklist headache.
