Kit Mix #103 // Francis Plagne

I fell in love with the music of Francis Plagne after coming across his Tenth Volume of Maps record, a genius collision of perfect pop tunes and overheard oddness. In the Melbourne artist’s own words, his work ‘swings between songwriting and a variety of other approaches, including group improvisation, instrumental abstraction and domestic musique concrète’. His mix is unsurprisingly brilliant, and further reveals Plagne’s penchant for the sublime and strange, with mathy prog, spooky spoken word and Brazilian psych in tandem. We’re really excited about Francis’s new album, which will be released through his own Mould Museum label in January (read more HERE).
